Yeah that's what I was thinking :D

I should get it through tonight, for some reason he felt the need to post it to me instead of email or telling me on the phone :P

Haha I'll post it tonight when I get home.

Never know though, might actually be a good deal if he doesn't change anything too dramatic. But we'll have to wait and see ;)

Haha yeah I know :(

But to give him credit, he does run a PC repair shop, but his prices are terribly high if you buy from him.

But apparently he's speaking to his supplier and his friend who owns a PC building shop to see what he can get for me, so it will be like the "Clash of the PC guru's" :D

God I feel like I'm about to create some huge debate about parts xD

Well I am intrigued to see what these ''professionals'' come up with - get them to register so we can have a real ''discussion'' :D

Without trying to sound condescending - people who own computer shops VERY rarely know about the products - especially when it comes to individual components - we will see

So basically they have changed Everything that I wanted, not even the case I wanted, one of their normal, own cases... they have taken out my Quad core, swapped my Mobo, stuck in a Nvidia GPU, given me bad Kingston RAM, a PSU with a name i've never heard of, a Liteon CD Drive and the option of 64 bit Vista in two options, the only DECENT change I see is the swap from a Hitatchi 400GB HDD to a seagate 500GB one... other than that, nothing is the same at all!

and let me just add, and quote the email he sent;

"Our suppliers were quite impressed with his taste, but thought he must be rich!! One of their sales guys was going to get a bespoke machine of his own from them, so based on Matt's spec he went to one of the real techies* and between them they ditched a few bits (such as the SLI** and two DVD drives), swapped some others and came up with three "ideal solutions."

* what "real techies" would swap my spec for this one?

** if they had noticed, my spec had an ATI 4850 GPU, how the f**k can I have wanted SLI? LOL!

:)

anyway, gotta go out, leave your comments for me to read when I get back!

I've worked out that option 1 and 2 are both more epxensive than my spec... as they do not include a monitor, and when I add the vAT and £105 for the mointor they both are more expensive than mine, and the third option is £50 cheaper...

still struggling for a monitor though.. the one you found me has suddenly disappeared and anyother ones I found for about £105 have also gone, now i'm stuck with a 19" instead :(

Oh and I cant find that OCZ RAM anywhere now, the only one I can find at 1066 is OCZ SLI-ready =/ the rest are higher and my mobo only takes 1066

After a look on the LG site it only has a D-sub

Get OEM - its fine, and cheaper

and OEM HDD's are fine - you just dont get cables or screws or an instruction manual with it!

Lol okay well I've found a decent monitor, it's only 19" but you cant get a 20" for around £100 anymore xD

because of the increase in prices, I saw my original spec from the original places costing almost £150 more than I wanted to spend but I soon found a much better website to use alongside eBuyer, which bruought the whole cost fo my build back down and even below the original £850 price : and thats including it ALL :D

I've had to tone down the Motherboard to the normal Gigabyte EP35-DS3 but i've checked the specs and I believe it works just as well as the EP35C-DS3R that i was looking at originally :D

I'll be ordering it tonight :) after college.

Thanks alot Dalo for all your help :P

Your welcome and if you have a look around some of the didgimate ones are around that price - they are a budget one, but my friend got a 22" one for about £100 and he has had no complaints (well 1 dead pixel in RED) lol

but should still be able to get one if you wanted - I have the Viewsonic VX2025 and they were £200 at the time - I had a look on google shopping and have seen them at around £130 they are slightly more BUT they are the best monitor I have ever used - other than screen size it is better than my old 30" DELL ;)

I found a 22" ViewSonic VA2216w for £120 Here :O

is that worth a look at? :P

Mobo: Gigabyte GA-EP35-DS3L iP35 Socket 775 8 channel audio ATX Motherboard OR

Gigabyte GA-EP35-DS3 iP35 Socket 775 8 channel audio ATX Motherboard

(Which is better? generally I'd think the one with the extra letter 'L' was but it;s cheaper than the other one? :S)

RAM: OCZ reaper (2 x 1GB) 1066MHZ PC2 8500

PSU: Hiper HPU-4M530 Type M 530W - (will this power this spec?)

GPU: ATI Radeon HD4850

Extras

Optical Drives: Sony DRU-190S 20X DVD±RW DL & DVD-RAM Serial ATA

HDD: 500G Seagate Barracuda 7200.11 SATAII 3Gb 32MB Cache OEM

Monitor: Asus VB191T 19 inch 5ms DVI TFT LCD Monitor Black OR 19inch Hyundai BlueH H94W Widescreen Black Multimedia 5ms HDCP DVI TFT Monitor (which is better value for money? I think the Asus)

Speakers: Logitech X-530 5.1 Speaker System - 70W RMS

Anti-Static: Anti Static Wireless Wristband

Does all that sound good an compatible? :D and which ones should I choose for the Mobo and Monitor? :)

For the EP35-DS3 it says: "Supports Intel® Core™ 2 multi-core and Intel 45nm processors"

and for the EP35 DS3L it says: "Supports Intel® Core™ 2 multi-core and 45nm processors "

So I'm guessing that means they're both fine? :)

I got this from the intel site:

45 nm

Q9650

Q9550

Q9450

Q9400

Q9300

Q9100

Q8200

65 nm

Q6700

Q6600

Do you suggest I look at another mobo or change processors? :S

Can you possibly give me some examples too? as I cant find any mobos that specifically support 65nm well none that have good reviews... and to buy a 45nm processor the price is pretty higher than the Q6600

what I don't understand is, you have the Q6600, which is the 65nm processor, and your Asus P5K Premium Black Pearl mobo says "- Support Intel® next generation 45nm Multi-core CPU"

the same as the gigabyte ones I was looking at, does that mean that mine would also support the 6600 if yours does? :P or should I look at a lower end version fo your Asus?

If it says that it supports 65nm and 45nm then thats fine, my ASUS will take either, but some do not.

Check what it says on the MOBO spec - but some require a BIOS update so if you buy a 45nm capable MOBO you need a 65nm CPU to put in it first to do the update if that makes sense - look for one that is 45nm capable out of the box. not 65nm capable of 45nm :D

Oh the joys of building PC's :D

The problem is that my processor, the Q6600 is a 65nm processor but all the mobo spec says the same thing: "Support Intel® next generation 45nm Multi-core CPU" includingyours, sodoes that mean if it says it supports the 45nm does that mean it will support the 65nm aswell? :S

Because your mobo specs say "Support Intel® next generation 45nm Multi-core CPU" yet your Q6600 is 65nm :O its the same as my situatuion,

sorry for any confuson :S

:(

Nevermind, the CPU support list for the Gigabyte mobo says it supports Q6600 after BIOS version 11 :P

Sorry about all the confusion :D

So I'm guessing that its compatible therefore, I'm off to order it all tonight!!
