Guest JDouglas Posted September 13, 2007 Posted September 13, 2007 We have set up a two way trust between two Windows 2003 domains. We are using ADMT to migrate our AD objects from the source domain to the target domain. After I migrate a workstation, the workstation hostname is in both the source and target DNS. If I log into a workstation in the source domain and attempt to access the c$ share on the migrated workstation by typing the following at the run command: \\workstation_name.source_domain\c$ I get an error that says: Logon Failure: The target account name is incorrect. This also creates a number of event log errors in the security log of the migrated workstation with an ID of 529. However, if I issue the following at the run command it works successfully: \\workstation_name.destination_domain\c$ I am very confused as to why the domain of the dns record impacts whether the access is successful as both dns records resolve to the same IP address. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. Jeff Douglas
