Scheduled ntbackup not running

Recommended Posts

Posted

I recently setup a differential ntbackup to a file and scheduled it to run

at 2:00am every night and it is not running. It shows on the scheduled

tasks and is checked as being active. Any ideas on where I can look? Also,

I checked the event logs and nothing shows up there. Thank you.

There are three logs to check:

1. Event Viewer

2. Task Scheduler

3. Backup log

I suspect that the Backup log will tell you what's going on.

Re: Scheduled ntbackup not running

When you say "Backup Log" are you referring to the report you can print from

the ntbackup interface? That is empty. Thanks.

Re: Scheduled ntbackup not running

ntbackup.exe maintains up to ten log files. Look in

c:\documents and settings\..\..\backup*.log.

If the log files are empty then ntbackup does run

(contrary to the Subject of your post) but it waits

for some user input. Schedule it to run under the

same account as your foreground account, then

watch what happens.
