Guest Wolfeymole Posted October 6, 2008 Posted October 6, 2008 Are you talking about a pocket media drive? If so this does not have a power supply but gets the power via plugging in the 2 usb connectors. Are you saying that you have inserted the media whilst the pc is on? Quote
underpantman Posted October 7, 2008 Author Posted October 7, 2008 (edited) its not the pocket one but the bigger 300gigabite one it has 2 ports on the back for usb and a power one, i have separate leads for it and when i use these its instantly recognised and works. But while cleaning the heatsink the other week i noticed it had these same adapters built in the drive bay they just dont seem to work i have inserted this warm swapable before its switched on and whilst it is switched on and i get nothing noticed this he has same problem but with xp not vista and he has power when he connects it into the bay Edit: Forum link removed. Dalo Harkin Posted October 7, 2008 Posted October 7, 2008 Right - let me get this right - you have a slot in one of the spaces at the front of the PC that acts as a 'hot swappable bay' and you also have an external enclosure for doing the same thing when you do not use the bays. If the external enclosure works ok, but the swappable bay does not then the wires that connect the swappable bay to the Motherboard are not connected properly - can you take a screen shot of the inside (specifically where the wires run to from the swappable bay) Quote Intel Q6600 @ 4Ghz (Watercooled)Asus P5K premium black pearl4GB OCZ Reaper 8500260GTX Join Free PC Help - Register here Donations are welcome - here PC Build We are all members helping other members. Please return here where you may be able to help someone else. After all, no one knows everything and you may have the answer that someone needs.
