Guest SJB Posted September 13, 2007 Posted September 13, 2007 Hello, During the attempted Setup for Fax Service in XP pro SP2 the i386 folder that was prompted for, is missing. I don't have the separate XP pro SP2 CD either that could provide the required files. Neither my XP pro SP2 installation disk has those files, which was suggested to use. However, I'd have access to XP SP2 Home i386 folder and it's files in it. At where earlier the Fax Service setup was a success. Should/could I use these files for installing the Fax Service in XP pro SP2 OS? Thanks sjb

That is, is it a "recovery" disc, an OEM installation disc specifically for the computer or is it a retail installation disc? For the non-recovery type of installation disc, just point to the cdrom drive when asked for additional files and the XP wizard should be able to do the rest. Failing this, the wizard will name the file(s) it is seeking. Do a search of the XP installation cdrom for that file and it will point out the path.
