Display delete confirmation dialog

Hey all,

Had an interesting request today. User accidentally deleted some files

that were being hosted on a share from a Windows 2003 server. He

stated the "Display delete confirmation dialog" setting was

unchecked... A requirement I received in result was to lock the

setting down so users cannot display the dialog and accidentely delete

an entire share of data. We do have backups etc to mitigate, but to

reduce time spent by the administrators they want to lock this

feature... I glanced over group policies and didn't see anything...

Our infrastructure is Windows 2003 domain and all XP clients.

Thanks and cheers,

Ken

Hello kenp21@gmail.com,

Check out this policy:

User Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Explorer, In right

panel, find "Display confirmation dialog box when deleting files"

RE: Display delete confirmation dialog

Hi Ken,

You might also look into enabling Shadow Copy so that users can be

self-service when restoring things that they accidentally deleted on the

network share.
