Guest kenp21@gmail.com Posted September 13, 2007 Posted September 13, 2007 Hey all, Had an interesting request today. User accidentally deleted some files that were being hosted on a share from a Windows 2003 server. He stated the "Display delete confirmation dialog" setting was unchecked... A requirement I received in result was to lock the setting down so users cannot display the dialog and accidentely delete an entire share of data. We do have backups etc to mitigate, but to reduce time spent by the administrators they want to lock this feature... I glanced over group policies and didn't see anything... Our infrastructure is Windows 2003 domain and all XP clients. Thanks and cheers, Ken

Guest Ryan Hanisco Posted September 17, 2007 Posted September 17, 2007 RE: Display delete confirmation dialog Hi Ken, You might also look into enabling Shadow Copy so that users can be self-service when restoring things that they accidentally deleted on the network share. -- Ryan Hanisco MCSE, MCTS: SQL 2005, Project+ http://www.techsterity.com Chicago, IL Remember: Marking helpful answers helps everyone find the info they need quickly.
