hi all

im running windows vista home premium

on my toshiba satellite p200 laptop

a few weeks ago and since forth,

it has started to freeze up and become unresponsive after about half an hour

if it is left unattended/ watcjing a movie etc.

i assumed it was a power saving/ screen saver issue but cant locate the

problem.

this is resulting in me having to hold the power button down to turn off, whitch i really hate doing.

im just getting hold of some diagnostic tools ( speedfan/hijackit etc)

so if any additional info is needed please ask.

So when you say its unresponsive say watching a film - does the film continue? or does it just stop and nothing is responsive?

does CTRL+ALT+DEL bring the task manager up?

nope it all freezes, can still move the mouse, but if you right click it just starts the loading animation. alt-cntrl-del dosent bring up options while its in that state.

hitting the windows button brings up the template of the start menu, but no active buttons to click.

also i tried leaving it in its unresponsve state over night, and awoke to it just as i left it.

laptop dosent feel hot so i dont believe it to be a overheating problem.
