HI, I can’t access my internet; it closes after a few seconds. Also I can’t access internet properties. The icon in the control panel has no writing under it??

This all happened after I did a system restore yesterday after installing IE 8 beta 2 from the Microsoft download centre.

I have re installed IE 7 but still no change.

Any help is much appreciated. Please be patient with my replies as I am working shifts. Thank you.

I hate beta offerings, have you uninstalled IE8 Paul?

See if you can get IE7 open long enough to run a reset. It can also be done through "Internet Options" in the Control Panel if you can access it.

1.Open Internet Explorer 7. 2.Click Tools, and then click Internet Options. 3.Click the Advanced tab. 4.Under Reset Internet Explorer Settings, click Reset.

You may have to do the above in Safe Mode.

The internet closes in less then a second and the internet properties/options in the control panel won't open. That icon there has no text underneath it!! Even in safe mode!! All the rest of them work fine.

Remove IE7 which will leave you with IE6. See how that works out.

In the meantime you can download a different browser (Firefox) from another computer, then install it on the sick computer.

Try Firefox and attempt to install IE7 on top of itself.
