LS, I posted this question in the XP Accessibility forum, but no reactions;

therefor I post it here:

On my daughter's system (W-XP Home ed NL) she uses the numeric KB to control

the mouse. For this the mouse control item under the accessibility control

has been activated. It worked for about a half year, but now the function is

off and cannot be turned on again. The local services listing (Config, System

control. Services) shows that apparatus for human interface is not active;

Entry for specific apparatus for use of predefined KB keys is not active.

Starting it gives error 126: module not found.

All regular updates are automatically installed; I cannot tell if a certain

update caused the nonfunctioning..

What is causing it?

Re: Mouse via Num KB

it may be likely a registry

issue. it does take some time

and initiative to maintain windows

at different levels and on a regular

basis.

here is a link that may provide

additional information regarding

your observations:

http://search.microsoft.com/results.aspx?mkt=en-US&setlang=en-US&q=human+interface+is+not+active

and

http://search.microsoft.com/results.aspx?q=error+126%3A+module+not+found.&qsc0=0&SearchBtn0=Search&FORM=QBME1&l=1&mkt=en-US&PageType=99

i haven't looked into all the

probabilities attributing to

the issue you brought forward.

however, if you find a clue by

the above, you can let us know

so we can use it to emphasize

some possible solutions.

in addition, microsoft provides

2 "free" technical support tickets for

windows. like most of us, we have

not taken advantage of this benefit. so

it might be helpful to see if they

can resolve this issue, plus they

can forward your unique problem to the

software engineers as well. you

should be able to go to microsoft.com

and begin the process for support.

if after the above you seem to

still be stuck, let us know. with

your research using the above, you will

be able to provide us with additional

information afterwards.
