Guest John W Posted September 14, 2007 Posted September 14, 2007 I posted a question a few days ago to see if there was a way to put temporary internet files into a users roaming profile on SBS 2k3. I found out this is not possible. My next question is regarding a users cookies. We have a few users whose cookies do not show in their profile while everyone else's do. All systems are running XP so I'm not sure why there would be a difference. Is there something I can check to correct this? Thanks!

Guest John W Posted September 17, 2007 Posted September 17, 2007 Re: Roaming Profile Question Maybe I didn't put enough information in my question. I want to be able to see the users cookies in their profile folder that is stored on the server. This may sound strange but we have an offsite person who is compiling some reports for us and part of what he wants to see is each users internet files. The majority of our profiles have the information stored on the network but we have a few users whose cookies don't show up. Generally, if you want to monitor peoples' website use, you use a proxy server with this sort of reporting built in. ISA in SBS2003 Premium willdothis for you. > The majority of our profiles have the > information stored on the network but we have a few users whose > cookies don't show up. If you can't see \\server\profileshare\username\cookies at all, then there's a problem. If you see the folder and it's empty, but from the same computer you can see \anotherusername\cookies, perhaps username has deleted them, or has software that deletes them. Or perhaps they're having roaming profile problems & you need to check their workstation's event logs, etc. > > "Lanwench [MVP - Exchange]" > <lanwench@heybuddy.donotsendme.unsolicitedmailatyahoo.com> wrote in > message news:e0xdX269HHA.4784@TK2MSFTNGP05.phx.gbl... >> John W <jw2554@yahoo.com> wrote: >>> I posted a question a few days ago to see if there was a way to put >>> temporary internet files into a users roaming profile on SBS 2k3. Guest John W Posted September 17, 2007 Posted September 17, 2007 Re: Roaming Profile Question We're not so much monitoring peoples website usage that's just one piece of information this guy has asked for. I'm honestly not sure what he plans to do with the information - guess I'm not important enough to know ha ha! So let me ask this - if a user were to clear their cookies before logging off would this keep the cookies folder from being copied to their profile? Guest John W Posted September 17, 2007 Posted September 17, 2007 Re: Roaming Profile Question Well that answers my questions then. It just so happens the few users that are missing the folder in their profile are the ones we know use the internet for personal use. Glad to know it's not a profile issue. Now I'll just have to see if I'm important enough to have their supervisor get them to stop clearing their cookies! Thanks for the info!!!!
