hi guys ,could anyone tell me how to slow down my cpu/heatsink fan,its flat out permanently(4650 rpm),it started when I fitted a new mobo,as soon as it started for the first time ,it went flat ot and has been the same since then,I checked in the bios and it says cool'n'quiet is enabled, but its certainly not quiet ,but the cpu is running at 36 degrees,am I missing something or is there a mobo fault?

Sounds like it's doing it's job Alan but it may either be a crap fan or a loose bearing.

What make is the fan and Dalo will get back to you on this.

I suspect that the new mobo's fan connector isn't compatible with the connector on the fan. Does the fan have 3 wires? If so, one of those wires controls the throttling by reducing the voltage. How many pins are on the mobo connector, and can you find out what each one does from the manual?

Is the heatsink hot to touch once the computer is warmed up?
