Sometimes my Laptop freezes when I try to open a program once its started up. When this happens I have to turn it off with the power switch as it wont even let me shut down properly. It happens several times in a row (sometimes it has happened so many times I have given up trying to use it) before it eventually works. It will freeze or take a long time to open even the basic programs like word or the start menu during this time. If I leave it long enough when it has frozen the screen will then go blank and the message box "Logon proccess has failed to create the security options dialog" - " Failure - Security Options". Any ideas what the problem might be?

Hello and Welcome to FPCH Stubbo. :)

The error is known to be caused if you have an incompatible security suite or program installed on your system. To resolve it, try uninstalling the security suite and see if it resolves the problem or not. Incidentally, are you using a Western Digital hard drive? Many of its users have complained that the hard drive failed when they started receiving the error from Vista. Get back to us with more information and we will try our best to help you out.
