Guest dawn Posted September 17, 2007 Posted September 17, 2007 windows 98 os ans alot of the files are missing the hard disk is compressed and im trying to install 2000 to have working os but the hard disk is compressed and i cant uncompress the drive what do i do to beable to install the 2000 to have running os

Try using an ERB disk [emergency recovery boot disk - bootdisk.com]. NOTE: any compressed drive will expand considerable. Once that's done it will not matter if the drive is compressed... simply boot from your win2k cd and delete the partition... and format the drive to perform a clean install
