Quacker Posted October 16, 2008 Posted October 16, 2008 No not some kind of brilliant scientific breakthrough;) but have noticed recently on one particular website I use, the clickable links are not showing anywhere on the screen unless I "hover" over them then they appear. (when using Firefox) I have just mailed the site to question this and then as an experiment reverted back to I.E. and the site loads up fine with all links clearly on view etc. I have mailed them again to alert them to this. Is this something had can happen from time to time? - Never had anything like this with any other website, and it is no hardship to revert back to I.E.7 - just curious. No it is not a dubious website - just a statistics website for the history of Sunderland Football Club - url below if anyone cares to look. I am using Firefox 3.03 so all up to date etc. Any comments appreciated Regards Steve Whoops! link came up as a row of question marks - not sure If I can't post it so have removed - just in case. Jack Hackett Posted October 16, 2008 Posted October 16, 2008 Please post the URL so we can check it out for ourselves, or if you are having trouble posting the URL just type in sitename.com, we know then Quote Ne auderis delere orbem rigidum meum!
Guest Wolfeymole Posted October 16, 2008 Posted October 16, 2008 Post the url in quotes Quacker like so; "www.abc.com" Quote
Quacker Posted November 25, 2008 Author Posted November 25, 2008 Sorry - almost forgot about this one! "www.statcats.co.uk" As I mentioned it acts and shows completely different on the two browsers. I have again left a message on the site but it seems they are ignored/unanswered and the site has not been updated this season. Steve Quote
RandyL Posted November 25, 2008 Posted November 25, 2008 The links look fine on my FF2.0. Are you running any add-ons? Quote We are all members helping other members. Goku Posted November 26, 2008 Posted November 26, 2008 It is a browser compatibility problem Steve. I am running Firefox 3.0.3 and experience the same issues. The easiest fix would be to update the site code so that it is compatible with newer versions of Firefox. Also, reporting the problem to Mozilla might help too. :) -- Goku Quote
Quacker Posted December 1, 2008 Author Posted December 1, 2008 Thanks both - at least I know I'm not cracking up. Th only time I've ever witnessed the slightest problem with Firefox v I.E. No hardship though to switch occasionally :) Quote
