Guest Wendi Posted September 17, 2007 Posted September 17, 2007 What I was doing: scanning in artwork for a CD, then moving the scanned artwork from "My Scans" to a flash drive. I then recieved this error message: "Cannot copy(codename) the directory or file cannot be created". I have been doing this for awhile without problems, and then all of a sudden, it doesn't work. I am unable to move anything. I tried to move different scans , pictures(in My Pictures) and I just keep getting the same message. It also will not allow me to drag an item either. Help anyone?
Guest Rey Santos Posted September 17, 2007 Posted September 17, 2007 RE: error message about copying If you are putting the files in the "root directory" of the drive, there could be a limit to the number of files and folders that can exist there (usually 510). Try to create a series of folders on the drive and copy the files to the folders, not all just to the root directory. -- Rey "Wendi" wrote: > What I was doing: scanning in artwork for a CD, then moving the scanned > artwork from "My Scans" to a flash drive.
