Guest mss Posted September 17, 2007 Posted September 17, 2007 I'm getting an error every time I log into Windows. It says the file aquawmej.dll cannot be found. I have searched my registry for a key containing this file name and have found nothing.
Guest Gerry Posted September 17, 2007 Posted September 17, 2007 Re: Error when logging into WinXP Have you got the file name 100% correct as a google search provides no results. This suggests a random generated name or malware. You can try using autoruns to locate where it is starting from. Use Autoruns to find any unwanted start ups! http://www.microsoft.com/technet/sysinternals/ProcessesAndThreads/Autoruns.mspx You should only use to remove left over entries after you have uninstalled the hardware / software. -- Hope this helps. Guest mss Posted September 17, 2007 Posted September 17, 2007 Re: Error when logging into WinXP Thanks for the reply. Yes, it is the exact spelling of the file. What I ended up doing is installing "RegCure" from Pareto. This found 1806 errors, in the form of unused/missing registry entries, missing links, bad ActiveX/COM entries, shared DLL's and more. I first created a Restore Point and then fixed all the errors using RegCure. Pretty efficient and powerful software in my opinion. Thanks again "Gerry" wrote: > Have you got the file name 100% correct as a google search provides no > results.
