Guest Robert Posted September 17, 2007 Posted September 17, 2007 We have recently applied Service Pack 2 to our Windows 2003 server. Upon reboot we experience quite a bit of issues, many minor ones we have cleaned up. There are two major issues in which have been causing some problems. 1. When opening Windows Explorer or Internet Explorer we recieve the following error: Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library. Runtime Error! Program: C:\WINDOWS\explorer.exe or for Internet Explorer C:\WINDOWS\iexplore.exe. This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the application's support team for more information. 2. Our Windows XP Professional users runing Microsoft Access 2003 are recieving a message when trying to access "Access 2003" files on the shared drive. The message refers to the file residing on an untrusted site. We have tried removing a couple of test Windows XP desktops from the domain, reboot, then rejoin with no success. I'm wondering if there is a DNS issue related to issue #2. I've check all the IP references and they are correct. We are able to resolve names by pinging, but unable to map to Windows 2003 shared drives (by name) when part of the domain. The Windows XP desktops that are not part of the domain have no problem mapping Windows 2003 shares by name. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. Robert
