Integrating SP2 into XP installation folder

Recommended Posts

My submission refers to MS article 900871 that instructs how to download and

integrate XP SP2 NETWORK installation package to earlier version of XP-es.

I have arrived to this site, hoping to get my missing i386 folder integrated

with XP SP2 on my computer running XP pro SP2.

However my machine is not connected to NETWORK, running individually.

Still, can use this site for the intended purpose of mine?

Thanks for any help

See if you can get a copy of the original install CD from whoever built your

system and then download Autostreamer and the SP2 install package. This is

*the* easiest way to do this.

http://www.softpedia.com/get/Tweak/System-Tweak/Autostreamer.shtml

Running the SP2 install by itself isn't going to give you an \i386 folder.

You need to get the files for this elsewhere, and you need the same type as

was originally installed on your system (i.e. home, pro, upgrade, retail,

oem, VL). Once you have the CD, and have slipstreamed, you can just copy

the folder from the burned CD if you feel you need it.

I have the original installation CD, XP pro SP1a.

Can get the i386 from there.

Then next what?

You have put up with my ignorance.

thanks

Then download autostreamer, as Patrick suggests, run it and do what it tells

you to. That really is as simple as anyone can make it.
