documents and settings folder

I picked up a second computer and would prefer NOT to re-instal windows xp

pro on it as it already has that installed from the old owner.

Is there a way of either re-naming or deleting the folder with his name on

it in the documents and settings folder?

default user, administrator, my name, and his name are listed there. I

would like to either rename or delete the folder with his name on it.

can this be done?

Yes, it can be done.

[At second thoughts: You probably wanted to ask HOW it

can be done: Log on as Administrator, then rename or delete

the folder(s).]

thanks for quick reply.

I guess I didnt explain it properly.

In my documents and settings folder, there is a folder with someone elses

name on it. I would like to rename or remove it.

It is not listed when I open user accounts . All that is in there is me, (my

name) and guest. nothing else.

thanks again..

"Accounts" and "Profile Folders" are linked to each other but

are not the same thing. Someone obviously deleted the

offending account but left the Profile Folder behind. As

I said before, log on as Administrator, then delete the

folder(s) you do not like. Leave in place the folders

"Administrator", "All Users", "Default User" and any

other folder that look like they relate to the Windows

system.
