I went to help a friend with his computer. I tried to change the desktop

picture but when I go to Control Panel, Display there is no tap for Desktop.

How could it be missing? The other tabs are there. Any help would be

appreciated. Thank you

Re: Display missing Desktop Tab

Using google.com, I found this post from MVP Doug Knox:

Click Start, Run and enter REGEDIT Go to:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System

Look in the right pane for a value called NoDispBackgroundPage. If it

exists it should be set to 0 (zero). If not, double click the value and

change it to 0. If it doesn't exist, right click in the right pane, select

New, DWord Value and name it NoDispBackGroundPage. Leave it set at 0.

Thanks so much for the reply and fix. I can't imagine how that would happen

but I will fix it.
