Guest ray124c41 Posted September 18, 2007 Posted September 18, 2007 Perhaps previously I was not clear or was too verbose, so I'm re-posting this problem: When my system comes out of standby, the monitor screen doesn't come on. Only the little green light at the bottom of the monitor comes on. If I wait till the little green light goes off and hit the button under the little green light, THEN the monitor screen comes on. The problem is, of course, that when the system resumes or (re-)boots, the monitor should come on automatically. So, how to fix? Is this a hardware problem? Am I about to have a hardware failure? If so, what hardware? A software problem? What? I hope this is clear. -- ray124c41
Guest John Posted September 18, 2007 Posted September 18, 2007 RE: Monitor screen stays dark - one more time I think you might have a power managment problem. You can change power managment settings in the BIOS Setup. Can you provide at least the monitor hardware details? -- A story of success always has a beginning. Guest ray124c41 Posted September 21, 2007 Posted September 21, 2007 RE: Monitor screen stays dark - one more time I have Windows XP Pro SP2. The display adapter is nVidia's GeForce4 MX 420. The monitor is an HP Pavilion mx70, the old fashioned CRT kind. Thank you for your interest. -- ray124c41 "John" wrote: > I think you might have a power managment problem. > > You can change power managment settings in the BIOS Setup. > Can you provide at least the monitor hardware details? > -- > A story of success always has a beginning. > > > "ray124c41" wrote: > > > Perhaps previously I was not clear or was too verbose, so I'm re-posting this > > problem: > > > > When my system comes out of standby, the monitor screen doesn't come on. > > Only the little green light at the bottom of the monitor comes on.
