IIS under NLB

HI NG

We have been trying to set to Servers up to NLB, and we have tried

both unicast and multicast.

The NLB setup works fine, if we ping the Cluster adress we can

disconnect one of the servers without loosing connection. But if we

try to acces the cluster adress from a browser, we get "Internet

Explorer cannot display the webpage".

We have no internal firewall who can cause the problem, and we are

connecting from our local network so external firewalls who can cause

this.

Anybody here who knows what could be causing this

Regards JWI

Hello,

Do you have a corresponding DNS entry ?

what about http://X.X.X.X/ with the cluster ip ?

any host header in the IIS web site ?

Yes we have a dns entry, for det cluster IP adress, and no as for now

we dont use Host headeron this IIs.

The only site in this IIS is a default.htm stating the server name.

I have just uninstalled IIS on both servers and taken them out of NLB.

Then i installed IIS again and testet it succesfully,

I then setup a multicast NLB with only one server in it, and testet

the IIS connection to the cluter adress unsuccesfully

I simply dont understand this

when we ping the cluster port everything is working, i can even

disconnect hosts without ping stops.

So the NLB is working... Sort of....

When you telnet cluster ip +port 80, it responds but throws you out

again before you can enter a command.

I have tried "get" and sometimes the command is executed, but it is

still saying, cant display webpage.

our affinity is set to single, and our port rule allows all ports to

connect to the cluster ip
