Hello Pigdog

Welcome to FPCH

Let's just make sure all that crap has gone by running the tools listed below.

Your computer could still be infected with Malware.

  • Malware is software designed to infiltrate or damage a computer system without the owner's informed consent.
It is a combination of the words malicious and software.
The expression is a general term used by computer professionals to mean a variety of forms of hostile, intrusive, or annoying software or program code.

  • Required Cleanup Steps
    1. Disable the Spybot Search & Destroy TEA TIMER if you use it and if it is enabled
    2. Run a Temporary file and cache cleaner (ATF)
    3. Run 2 Anti-Malware scanners (Listed Below)
    4. Run an Online Anti-Virus / Anti-Malware Scanner (Listed Below)
    5. Clear out old System Restore points
    6. If continued Malware type activity is present you may be asked to post a TrendMicro™ HijackThis™ Log file, do not do so unless requested.

The reason to run multiple scanners is to ensure that no single scanner is missing something.

The time it takes will vary depending on your system and your internet connection speed.

Typically the SUPERAntiSpyware and Malwarebytes scanners will take between 10 to 90 minutes.

The ESET online scan should take between 1 to 3 hours.

In most cases, these scans will suffice to clean and disinfect your computer.

Heavily infected systems or slower PCs can take much longer to scan and clean.

For best results print the following instructions and bookmark this Web page

To keep this guide printer-friendly, use your cursor to highlight the contents below.

From your browser select File - Print and in the printer dialog box under "Print range"

click the

Good. Your system should be clean now. To help keep it that way look at the FPCH suggested security programs.

The Adobe Flash Player download and installation has been a problem for many. I usually uninstall it by using the Flash Player uninstaller. Next use the stand alone installer instead of installing it from the main download page. Flash Player 10 is the latest version.

Pay close attention to the instructions and reboot as needed. I suggest to reboot after the uninstall.

Good luck.

OK let me get this straight.

1. You have reset IE7.

2. You have run the uninstaller.

3. You closed all open proccesses first.

4. You rebooted.

5. You ran the stand alone installer.

Follow those steps in that order.

What I fail to understand is your statement about downloading the flash player from the Microsoft page. Microsoft doesn't offer the flash player. Adobe does.

Also have you tried all the steps at Troubleshoot Adobe Flash Player installation for Windows

It seems something on your system is blocking it. It could be malware, a security program, a firewall or something else.

Reset IE.

Run the uninstaller.

Follow the instructions for it.

The downloaded stand alone installer will not direct you to the Adobe download site.

You never answered me on the microsoft flash player download. Microsoft does not have the Adobe Flash Player as a download.

You never answered me whether you tried all the steps on the link you and I both provided.

You never said if you stopped all proccess first.

You have to follow all the steps that Adobe and I have provided. Exactly.

You also need to be exactly clear as to to what you have or have not done.

You also have to answer all our questions exactly.

I'm not picking on you but you have to be absolutely clear on everything in order for us to help you.

What security do you have? Do you have Norton? Do you have any popup blockers? What firewall do you have? These are noted at the Adobe site.

Do you have P2P or file sharing software installed? That is do you have music or movie downloading software installed?

Do you have any IE add-ons or toolbars?
