Guest JJ Posted September 18, 2007 Posted September 18, 2007 My Windows Backup Utility is consuming more than 4 gig of space. What exactly is it? Does it actually store some (or all) of my data files? If yes, how do I access them? I lost one yesterday (an outlook folder) and I would like to restore it? -- jj
Guest DL Posted September 18, 2007 Posted September 18, 2007 Re: Windows Backup Utility You can only restore the whole outlook data file, not an individual folder. You could have restored an individual folder, or email, if you had used the free MS outlook backup addin "JJ" <JJ@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:999234A3-55EE-4EA0-A25F-EC1311075972@microsoft.com... > My Windows Backup Utility is consuming more than 4 gig of space. Your question implies that you do not know what you're backing up. It is absolutely essential to perform a test recover once every so often. If you don't then you find yourself in the situation of many a poster in this newsgroup, complaining bitterly that "I backed up my PC regularly and now I cannot retrieve any files when I have to."
