Guest BudV Posted September 18, 2007 Posted September 18, 2007 I'm running WinXp Home Sp2 on a Dell I2500. On a regular basis, in the middle of some operation (in the latest case it was a Symantec fix for appsvc32.exe problems) my system will drop out of DSL mode and pop-up a dial-up window. I'm sure it's some parameter I've set wrong, but I don't know what it is. Any ideas?
Guest BudV Posted September 18, 2007 Posted September 18, 2007 Re: DSL drops into dial-up mode Well, I made a change that seems to have worked. It remains to be seen if I've done any damage in the process. Under IE/Tools/Internet options/Connections I set "Never dial a connection." This is pretty normal, and happens with many network setups. The change you made is the correct one and won't harm anything. You would likely also find the problem if you were connected to a router (which isn't a bad idea).
