Guest A Posted September 18, 2007 Posted September 18, 2007 Hi, I have a Windows 2003 server with 30+ domain users. I have shared a number of folders on the server for these users to access and store files, however, there is a laptop which does not logon to the domain, but exists on the network. Normally, I would expect a username/password prompt to show if this laptop were to access the Win2003 server's shared folders. This did occur a few times, but has now stopped and keeps prompting the same message of having no permissions to access the resource. How do I continue to have this username/password dialog apear? Thank you in advance, A.

Another thing that would prob work is to temporarily create a mapped drive to the share using the "connect using a different user name" option and make sure to put the correct info here, mapping this even just once with the right credentials and then disconnecting the drive would fix the permissions issue. Guest A Posted September 19, 2007 Posted September 19, 2007 Re: Folder Sharing Problem - Help! Thank you! I have another question tho... I can ping the server's IP, but I cannot ping the server's name... What would be causing this? Guest Coraleigh Miller Posted September 19, 2007 Posted September 19, 2007 Re: Folder Sharing Problem - Help! Do you have this issue just from this laptop? Check that the laptop is getting the correct dns server in your ipconfig. If it is try an ipconfig /flushdns and then an ipconfig /registerdns Coraleigh Miller "A" <a@home> wrote in message news:O6yXmOn%23HHA.5464@TK2MSFTNGP02.phx.gbl... > Thank you! > > I have another question tho...
