Guest jchchye Posted September 19, 2007 Posted September 19, 2007 Greetings people, I'm having some problem here with my removable drive. I can no longer open it by double clicking on the icon in My Computer but instead, I'll have to open it by right clicking > Open. Each time I double click on the icon, a window will appear and ask me to select the programs to open the Removable Drive. I don't have such problem with my friend's removable drive. Could you guys please help me get around this? Thanks a lot. Cheers!

May be caused by an file autorun.inf in the root of the removable drive. The file may be 'hidden'. To see them in the Windows Explorer: Menu 'Tools' -> 'Folder Options' Tab 'View', mark 'show hidden files and folders' If it's indeed hidden then it's probably created by a virus. Greetings from Germany Uwe

Cheers! > This happens if the drive contains certain file types that XP recognises. XP then helpfully offers you a list of applications to open to access those files. Simply select the penultimate option, which is to open the device in explorer.
