Terminal Server Service Issue

Hi All,

 

I need one urgent help.

 

I have a windows 2003 server with SP1. Its a part of a windows 2003 domain

 

Terminal service is configured in remote administrattion mode.

Since no one was able to login to the server using TS, the server was

forcibaly rebooted.

 

After reboot the Terminal server service did not come up.

 

We tried couple of options but TS never came up.

 

So from a similar server we did copy some reg keys to the problematic

server. After the reg key copy the Terminal server service has come up but we

are still not able to do a RDP to that server.

 

When we try to do RDP it gives us the following error

 

"The network connection was ended because of an error.Pls try connecting to

the remote computer again"

 

When we checked in the event log of the server we have the following event

 

"The RDP protocol component "DATA ENCRYPTION" detected an error in the

protocol stream and has disconnected the client".

 

Can any one of you let me to as to what trouble shooting steps needs to be

taken to resolve this Terminal server service issue.

BTW i just filled in the error message in google and got this as first hits.

I had gone through both of the MS KB links and still the problem exists.

 

I am getting the following event id

 

Event id 50 and the Source : TermDD

Thanks for your time and effort to resolve the TS issue which we are facing

 

I did check this one too.

 

Unfortunatley even this KB article was not of much help.

 

Still the same issue exists.
