Guest Rich Posted September 19, 2007 Posted September 19, 2007 this is the weirdest problem i've ever seen. We have a user who's first print job from her RDC session always hangs every day. Then when she logs off the server and back on to clear her virtual print queue mapped to the network printer installed on her local computer, she can then print. I've tried deleting her profile from the server, reinstalling the printer on her local computer, no such luck. Any ideas of what could I could possibly try next???? She use mstsc to connect to the 2000 SP4 server. Even cancelling the job in her virtual print queue doesn't work, it just sits at Deleting forever until she logs off. Is there some sort of logging I can turn on to see what is going on or something??? The weird thing is that other people use the same printer when RDC'd to the same server and it works fine.
Guest Anthony Posted September 19, 2007 Posted September 19, 2007 Re: First print job of day doesn't work for just one user, STRANGE Terminal services printing is surprisingly complex, hence the third party printing methods like Uniprint. Can you turn on printer logging? What errors do you have when this happens? First of all I would make sure that you are using exactly the same printer drivers everywhere (print server, terminal server, clients) and that it is a TS approved printer driver. Hope that helps, Anthony, http://www.airdesk.co.uk "Rich" <Rich@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:4394FAE9-CD8F-4660-920E-61920DE4F9E1@microsoft.com... > this is the weirdest problem i've ever seen. Guest Rich Posted September 19, 2007 Posted September 19, 2007 Re: First print job of day doesn't work for just one user, STRANGE How do you turn on printer logging? everything should be the same between users, as they all add this printer from my print server. Guest Rich Posted September 19, 2007 Posted September 19, 2007 Re: First print job of day doesn't work for just one user, STRANGE And I do this on my actual printer server they add the printer from, or the server she is RDC'ing to where the error actually happens?
