Windows 2003 server doesn't authenticate with any W2003 DC

I have a problem with one of my Windows 2003 member servers. It

doesn't authenticate with any Domain Controllers on the same domain or

on the different standalone domains.

If I try to access the shares on any DC it will prompt for the

username and password I provide domain\username and password but it

gives wrong password error.

If I try to go to the shares from windows 2000 DC it authenticates

fine. If I try to go to share of Windows 2003 non-DC servers it

authenticates fine. Connecting to XP and Windows 2000 workstations

also works fine.

What can be I problem? I don't see any errors in the logs. Is there

any helper services used for authentication with DCs?

Thanks

Do you receive system error if using net view \\dcname?

C:\Documents and Settings\mexadmin.MONT>net view \\modomain

System error 5 has occurred.

Access is denied.

In most cases, system error 5 is permission issue. This search result may help.

System ErrorsIf the net view command fails with a "System error 5 has occurred. .... 2. when using net view \\hostname, you may receive "System error 5 has occurred. ...

Re: Windows 2003 server doesn't authenticate with any W2003 DC

Thanks for you reply.

Yes I know it is the permission issue. This is because it doesn't

authenticate to the DC, so it is not allowing to access DC. I am

wondering why it doesn't authenticate when I provide the correct admin

username and password.

There is no firewall anywhere, and all the services are running.

Thanks
