Guest Kevin Posted September 19, 2007 Posted September 19, 2007 Anyone know if/how to install SP2 with out the cryptographic service running?
Guest Meinolf Weber Posted September 20, 2007 Posted September 20, 2007 Re: Install SP2 without cryptographic service running Hello Kevin, I think it will not be possible to modify it that one special service will not be installed. But why not stopping the service after installation and setting to manual or disabled? Guest Kevin Posted September 20, 2007 Posted September 20, 2007 Re: Install SP2 without cryptographic service running Here is the problem ... I have a server that has mutiple services not starting. I think loading SP2 will fix the issue enough for me to work on the server ... BUT SP2 will not install without the cryptographic service running and that service is one of the ones that will not start. Guest Meinolf Weber Posted September 20, 2007 Posted September 20, 2007 Re: Install SP2 without cryptographic service running Hello Kevin, Before just install the new SP, the better way is to find out what is going on on your server. So what services did not start, have you installed something before, changed configuration? If something is going wrong you should also have some errors/warnings in the event viewer. Please post them here complete. If services are not running and they haev to by default you have to find the problem/reason. They do not just stop why they will make you sad. There must be a reason. So what server role has the machine, some special software etc.?
