Perhaps you set your reader to not show your own posts?

Nope--group by conversation and show all posts

In what group did you post - when did you post - do you still have a copy in

your 'sent' folder - what was/is your problem?

You did post on 17 Sept here in windowsxp.general asking about updates.

As you have said, I cannot see it but found it on searching in 'find'.

You should have asked your question in the correct group as below

http://news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsoft.public.windowsupdate

I have done a test to see if your first post appears here in general.

Re-post in 'updates'. All updates can be burnt to disc - in fact I do it

every Black Tuesday as others do to keep in case of a complete reinstall.

Plus you can get SP2 on disc from MS - its free so all you will need is the

next 100 or so to get up to date.

Good luck.

You do leave the newsgroup and then come back to it, to refresh it with the

newest messages, right?

Do you have AV scanning incoming/outgoing emails? That can cause such

problems. The post won't go out but you'll see the post in your Sent folder

as though ti went out.

Have you checked your Sent folder? ARe the messages all there?

Leaving the newsgroup and returning is not at all necessary. All he

needs to do is "Synch" the newsgroup or "Synch all."

Since he is talking about newsgroup messages, AV scanning of E-mail is

irrelevant.
