Guest John Posted September 20, 2007 Posted September 20, 2007 Hi I have been backing and restoring my disk partitions using disk imaging utilities. Is there a way to check the integrity of the whole disk including the partitions? Chkdks only checks within a partition as far as I can tell and is therefore not good enough. Thanks Regards

It may also help to understand that, to Windows, each partition looks like a separate hard disk. --- Leonard Grey Errare humanum est John wrote: > Hi > > I have been backing and restoring my disk partitions using disk imaging > utilities. Chkdsk should be fine, however you have to check each partition/logical drive separately. However there's normally no reason to check at all, unless you are having problems. -- Ken Blake, Microsoft MVP Windows - Shell/User Please Reply to the Newsgroup
Guest Lil' Dave Posted September 21, 2007 Posted September 21, 2007 Re: Verifying disk structure No. Windows views a partition as a partition within windows explorer. Windows explorer has no functional way of viewing an entire hard drive, one or many partitions.
