Win2K3 SP2 R2 servers.

All Server apps and data are on the D:.

Is there any reason to backup the C: and the Windows directory...? What if

DNS is standard primary...?

I want to confirm there is nothing I may need to restore from the Windows

directory.

Thanks,

Tom...

You should have two separate backups:

a) All of drive C:, including the system state.

b) All your data.

The first type of backup is useless unless you spend the

time to test it by rebuilding the OS on a blank disk.

Re: Backup Question

You can't backup the entire C: as there are open files. I know you can buy

agents, but....

I would just re-install the server and apps, then restore the data.

So all I would need in the Windows directory are any certificates off the C:

right...?

Thanks,

Tom...
