Guest Jack B Posted September 21, 2007 Posted September 21, 2007 A Win XP pc suffered a HD crash. Put in new HD and reinstalled. However, the new HD is recognized as Local Disk (E) instead of Local Disk ©. I am having problems with drivers for the Ethernet card and the video and others. Is that because the Local Disk © is not there anymore? How do I fix that? Jack

Since you have installed Windows on drive E:, you're stuck with this letter unless you prefer to redo the job.

Guest Jack B Posted September 22, 2007 Posted September 22, 2007 Re: new HD is recognized as Local Disk E instead of C To get the new HD recognized as the C Drive, do I need to just reinstall Windows or first reinstall the HD? Guest Bob I Posted September 24, 2007 Posted September 24, 2007 Re: new HD is recognized as Local Disk E instead of C Reinstall Windows AFTER you disconnect/remove the removable drives. (all items like Flash drives, Zip drives and Printers with memory card adapters) Jack B wrote: > To get the new HD recognized as the C Drive, do I need to just reinstall > Windows or first reinstall the HD? > > > Jack > > ------------------------------------- > > > "Jack B" <jslimp01nospam@earthlink.net> wrote in message > news:%23TiKhKM$HHA.4584@TK2MSFTNGP03.phx.gbl... > Ok -- right -- problem now solved. > > Thanks. > > Jack > > > "Pegasus (MVP)" <I.can@fly.com> wrote in message > news:eeOiDeJ$HHA.2004@TK2MSFTNGP06.phx.gbl... > > "Jack B" <jslimp01nospam@earthlink.net> wrote in message > news:O1we4WJ$HHA.5404@TK2MSFTNGP02.phx.gbl... > >>A Win XP pc suffered a HD crash.
