PriceChild Posted February 13, 2006 Posted February 13, 2006 Hey, how did you guys start freepchelp? Just wondering lol. I've really been wanting to do some sort project based around a community cuz i think i've got decent experience and knowledge. But it's never going to happen as i haven't a drop of creativity in my head to think of something decent to startit about! :) Anyway... yeah, Pricey Quote
Guest imported_Mike Posted February 24, 2006 Posted February 24, 2006 Hey, It started out as a really crap website. One day I was bored and decided to play with FrontPage Express 98 :P... I first ripped off http://www.computerhope.com but then realised I was on to something so when I was in High School I designed Extreme Tech Support - Free PC Help and made it unique. I must have created about 4 or 5 different versions of Extreme Tech Support - Free PC Help over the years, but each one offering something new. At one point Extreme Tech Support - Free PC Help was quiet popular – must have been about 2 years ago -, tonnes of emails but then we had trouble with hosting, and it declined from their. I’m on a mission to bring it back up though. That’s it basically, I met James though computing.net (which I have to say has gone down hill a lot).. P.S. Im working on a new site. This time for 'keeps'. I wont have much to do with it anymore apart from owning the domain and paying for the webspace. Shall all be revealed soon. Quote
RandyL Posted February 25, 2006 Posted February 25, 2006 Hi Mike and PriceChild. This one has me asking a lot of questions too. Hope you don't mind an old man jumping in. Just bookmarked your old site Mike. I'll look into it more later. My primitive web site had a link to here before Extreme Tech Support - Free PC Help went off line late last year. I waited a long time to remove the link since I hadn't heard back. Should I take the time to add the links back? If this site intends to stay active and online I will. I think it would be great to be one of the first members "again". Or should I wait for a newer site? Or both? Is there anything I can do to help repay you for previous help or to promote you again? Would it help if I posted questions to get it started again? Because I have a lot of questions. So many I don't know where to start. Yes I do. Windows/Yahoo Companion Toolbar/Messenger/BHO's I'll post if anyone is up to Regestry modifications. Don't go away again and leave me hanging. It's exciting to be here at the new beginning. I check out this site everday. Quote We are all members helping other members. Please return here where you may be able to help someone else. merciarich Posted February 25, 2006 Posted February 25, 2006 Greetings RandyL First of all, dont be shy to ask us questions. It's what we are here for - just find the right forum and post away :) Secondly, I am thinking that this site is going to be around now for the future. I know Mike is working hard to produce a fully working website for FPH. Any linking you could do would always be appreciated. I look forward to helping you in the forums :) Regards, merciarich Quote
Jamey Posted February 26, 2006 Posted February 26, 2006 Wow, I completely forgot I met you through Computing.Net! And I completely forgot about that site until now! It really has gone downhill. In fact, the spirit of that website is what is in my heart and mind when we started these forums (both the original time and these). :) Quote
