How can I get rid of the " log of....." icon ont he start menu....just

How good are your registry editing skills?

 

Restrict the Start Menu Log Off Option

The same results can be accomplished through the Local Security

Policy if you're running XP Pro. Look under User

Configuration\Administrative Templates\Start Menu & Taskbar.
