Guest Lynn Posted September 22, 2007 Posted September 22, 2007 I am trying to use guided help to repair a system running XP Home where I am getting the error of "Windows Could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt: \Windows\System32\config\system" I have loaded the Guided_Help file onto a USB drive and try running it on the problem computer and it keeps telling me the command is not recognized. Any suggestions?? Thank you! Lynhn

Unfortunately your problem relates to not be able to start Windows. Then logically, if you can't start Windows you can't run the program. Perhaps try the manual steps. -- ==================================== TaurArian [MS-MVP] 2005-2008 - Australia ==================================== How to make a good post: http://www.dts-l.org/goodpost.htm Defending your machine: http://defendingyourmachine2.blogspot.com/ http://taurarian.mvps.org/index.htm Emails will not be acknowledged - please post to the newsgroup so all may benefit.
