RP1980 Posted October 27, 2008 Posted October 27, 2008 Sorry, not sure if this is the correct forum but... I had an issue a couple of months back which led to my computer reverting back to factory state (operator error, not technical :(). I lost all my files from my hard drive which I stupidly haven't backed up for over a year . I bought some recovery software and this has restored 80-85% of my photos, however the remaining 15-20% are corrupted and I cannot open them through MS Paint or the photo software I got with my HP printer and Kodak Camera (easyshare). Is there any hope I will ever be able to salvage these corrupted files, is there any software I can buy which will fix them, or some software which will open them in their current state? Thanks Quote
Guest Wolfeymole Posted October 27, 2008 Posted October 27, 2008 Well if you bought the recovery software and that cannot salvage them RP then I reckon they are gone for good mate. You could of course try to have them professionally restored but the cost would be very expensive. Quote
Goku Posted October 28, 2008 Posted October 28, 2008 What recovery software did you use Rich? The best one I know of is Recover My Files. Download the program and scan for your lost pictures. If the program shows them as recoverable and you are willing to spend some money, then buy the software. If you used some other recovery software before, there is a chance, that Recover My Files will do a better job. -- Goku Quote
