I am getting the following error when trying to start a computer withXP Home

Edition...

 

"Windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt:

\Windows\System32\Config\system"

 

Any suggestions? Thank you.

There's a MS knowledgebase item on this topic.

The steps here work reliably, but if you don't have System Restore turned

on, you're going to have some further problems because you won't have a

recent copy of the registry, and your system will not know about much of the

software that's been installed.

Thanks for the post however I get stuck on the second command...when I try to

copy the first file I get the following error: The file could not be copied

 

Any suggestions? Thanks!
