Connecting to Domain

Hey Guys

I have Win 2k3 SBS and i had installed it about 2 months ago and was able to

connect the domain no problem. I since left it, to work on other things and

have now come back to it.

The problem i am having is when i use the ConnectComputer tool under

"http://servername", i get the following error:

===================================================

You are not authorized to view this page

The Web server you are attempting to reach has a list of IP addresses that

are not allowed to access the Web site, and the IP address of your browsing

computer is on this list.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Please try the following:

Contact the Web site administrator if you believe you should be able to view

this directory or page.

HTTP Error 403.6 - Forbidden: IP address of the client has been rejected.

Internet Information Services (IIS)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Technical Information (for support personnel)

Go to Microsoft Product Support Services and perform a title search for the

words HTTP and 403.

Open IIS Help, which is accessible in IIS Manager (inetmgr), and search for

topics titled About Security, Limiting Access by IP Address, IP Address

Access Restrictions, and About Custom Error Messages.

===================================================

i was able to join the domain before and the only difference now, is that i

am on a network 192.168.1.x instead of 192.168.0.x. For the error, i am

guessing this is the problem. How do i allow all IP's to join the domain

(with usernames and passwords ofcourse)?

any help on this would be great.

thanks

RE: Connecting to Domain

Hi, On your SBS go to Administrative Tools, Internet Information Services. Go

to Websites, then right click default Website and go to properties. Click on

Directory Security and then under IP Address and domain name restrictions

click Edit. Access by IP Address is controlled from here so you can edit deny

all grant all etc. Once you have done this I am pretty sure you need to run

iisreset or restart IIS through the GUI.

That should do the trick. GL
