Guest pinger Posted September 22, 2007 Posted September 22, 2007 I have XP2002-SP2 and need an assist. I loaded a few Google Plug Ins, I think on Thursday, and at least one of them apparently had not agreed with my system. I have been trying to do a SYSTEM RESTORE and am coming up zeroes. I have chosen several restore points off of the calendar presented and have gone back through 5 or six dates and upon reboot I'm getting a message that the restore was not successful and no changes were made. Any thoughts?

Restart your computer and press F8 repeatedly until you are presented with a menu. Then select "Safe Mode" from that menu and press ENTER. -- Regards, Daniel Martín Microsoft MVP Windows - Shell/User "pinger" <pinger@ec.rr.com> wrote in message news:46f59e2b$0$16482$4c368faf@roadrunner.com... >I have XP2002-SP2 and need an assist. Guest pinger Posted September 23, 2007 Posted September 23, 2007 Re: SP System Restore Problem Daniel: Thanks for the idea. I did what you suggested--restarted the system in SAFE MODE---and still had a negative result. Any other thoughts? pinger "Daniel Martín [MVP Windows]" <mardani29@yahoo.es> wrote in message news:uU0BWMe$HHA.600@TK2MSFTNGP05.phx.gbl... > Try running System Restore from Safe Mode. If there are any Norton applications installed, take a look at this page. http://bertk.mvps.org/html/symantecdoc1.html Here are some more troubleshooting steps to take when System Restore fails to restore: http://bertk.mvps.org/html/srfail.html The Event Viewer can sometimes be helpful in tracking down errors.
