SP System Restore Problem

Recommended Posts

I have XP2002-SP2 and need an assist. I loaded a few Google Plug Ins, I

think on Thursday, and at least one of them apparently had not agreed with

my system. I have been trying to do a SYSTEM RESTORE and am coming up

zeroes. I have chosen several restore points off of the calendar presented

and have gone back through 5 or six dates and upon reboot I'm getting a

message that the restore was not successful and no changes were made. Any

thoughts?

Re: SP System Restore Problem

Try running System Restore from Safe Mode. Restart your computer and press

F8 repeatedly until you are presented with a menu. Then select "Safe Mode"

from that menu and press ENTER.

Daniel: Thanks for the idea. I did what you suggested--restarted the

system in SAFE MODE---and still had a

negative result. Any other thoughts?

Re: SP System Restore Problem

Let's see if System Restore will function in Safe Mode.

If there are any Norton applications installed, take a look at this page.

Here are some more troubleshooting steps to take when System Restore fails

to restore:

The Event Viewer can sometimes be helpful in tracking down errors.
