Guest Stewart Posted September 23, 2007 Posted September 23, 2007 Whenever I set it from C: drive properties > tools > error checking, it says it will perform it on the next boot when it has exclusive partition access. OK so far. Then after rebooting it says it is beginning the Chkdsk, but a line immediately follows saying it is being cancelled. I tried a related solution from the Knowledge base by using the opposite of its instuctions for making an registry entry for canceling chkdsk. In other words I made sure it was set to the example it gave before cancelling. When that didn't work, I removed the value entry completely. I made sure I searched the registry to make sure I changed all duplicate entries the first time, and removed all duplicate entries the second time. My chkdsks still canceled. The only way to chkdsk my C: partition 1 was to go to my D: partion 2 XP installation and do it from there. Not to convienient nor the way XP should work on C:. Anyone know what is missing, or what can be done? Thanks.
