Guest zep1123 Posted September 23, 2007 Posted September 23, 2007 Receive this error message when starting up xp. I cannot anything other than this message ie. no icons or access to programs. The only thing i can get is the task manager.

Since you can get Task Manager, do New Task>msconfig. Then do clean-boot troubleshooting with that utility so you can find the culprit.
