More problems

Hi Wolfeymole

Just located downloaded file and tried to play it, I got this message:

Windows Media Player cannot play the file because there is a problem with your sound device. There might not be a sound device installed on your computer, it might be in use by another program, or it might not be functioning properly

Do you mean you have no sound whatsoever Beano?

EDIT:

Ok do you have onboard sound or a sound card as you may need an updated sound driver?

What is the make and model of your PC?

Hi Beamo, is your sound system a separate sound card, or is it part of the system mother board? Whichever it is, let us know the type and any information on it.

Have you had a look at properties? any exclamation marks?

Drivers

Hi Wolf

I went to Medion site and it gave so many, I downloaded the one that looked like the one for my pc and it still didnt work even worse it made my pc really slow on the internet.

Just lost with it, thinking uninstall the drivers and re install, what do u think.

What gets me is that when I go into sounds it still shows HD Rear output and wont play window sounds and keeps putting me back to NO sound installed.

any more ideas??

Uninstalled driver

Hi Wolf, I decided to say S*d it and uninstalled the whole driver thing, noticed there was a scan for hardware changes, this after uninstall found new driver on the bios and loaded it.

I went to back of pc and un plugged everything, plugged it all back in after 60 seconds,(Old friend of mine was aplant engineer and said he use to do that with computerised systems) and low and behold, played a mp3 and blasted me ears off.

Done, dont know how but done.......... still no windows sounds but hey I can live without them.

Thanks for your help by the way.
