Whats the problem? You can try cleaning the laser in the optical drive - they sell cleaning kits at most computer/office supply stores. Otherwise, the drive may have failed. Swap it out for a known-working burner and see if all is well now. Malke -- Elephant Boy Computers http://www.elephantboycomputers.com "Don't Panic!" MS-MVP Windows - Shell/User

Guest Olórin Posted September 26, 2007 Posted September 26, 2007 Re: Can't copy pictures to CD Do you mean "more things"? Malke just suggested two... Try reinserting the CD. Try restarting the system if you haven't already. Try a different CD, the one in there might be a dud. What burning program are you using? Lots of people suggest drive cleaning kits as a first troubleshooting step for an alternative to replacing the drive. With optical drives as cheap as they are and since I always have quite a few lying around in the shop I simply swap out the drive for a known-working one to see if that fixes the issue. So do that. Guest Tom [Pepper] Willett Posted September 26, 2007 Posted September 26, 2007 Re: Can't copy pictures to CD Is your drive actually a burner or just a reader? Guest sgopus Posted September 27, 2007 Posted September 27, 2007 Re: Can't copy pictures to CD The question was, (Is your driver a burner) a regular cd drive will not burn cd's, it will only read them. What make and model is your cd drive? "SomorPlz" wrote: > I can play a music cd, but when I try to burn music the Media Player says > connect a burner.......
