Guest Snozz Posted September 25, 2007 Posted September 25, 2007 At random my win xp machines will seem to lose connectivity to network shares hosted on Win Server 2003. The win xp machine is joined to a .local domain hosted on the same server as the network drive or Visual source safe database. Logging off and logging back on reestablishes the connection, but this is getting to be a huge annoyance. I seems to occur once a day at varying times. I have made sure that the power settings for my network adapter are set to never turn it off. Event viewer shows this: Event Type: Warning Event Source: LSASRV Event Category: SPNEGO (Negotiator) Description: The Security System detected an attempted downgrade attack for server cifs/pluto. The failure code from authentication protocol Kerberos was "There are currently no logon servers available to service the logon request. And then this: Event Type: Warning Event Source: LSASRV Event Category: SPNEGO (Negotiator) Description: The Security System could not establish a secured connection with the server cifs/pluto. No authentication protocol was available.
Guest Dave Patrick Posted September 26, 2007 Posted September 26, 2007 Re: Random loss of network resources From a command prompt; ipconfig /all before and after may reveal something. Can you ping anything by name? by address? Can any other machines ping this one? -- Regards, Dave Patrick ....Please no email replies - reply in newsgroup.
