Guest TekSimple Posted September 26, 2007 Posted September 26, 2007 I am familiar with how to write protect USB drives on Windows XP SP2, (HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\StorageDevicePolicies. That registry setting works very well with group policy, but for our workstations only. The same registry setting does nothing for a Windows Server 2003 box. I need to prevent even accidental writes to removable storage devices on one particular server for overarching security policy reasons (rather than for practical purposes). Does anyone know how this can be done without "upgrading" to Longhorn beta or using a third party product?
