Guest Nibe Posted September 26, 2007 Posted September 26, 2007 Hi, I have two domain, one is the backup and the other is the PDC. All my network runs good and it syncs correctly with PDC. The problem is that PDC is not able to take the correct time from outside. That's what I see with w32tm /monitor: mydom1.mydom.com *** PDC *** [172.21.10.100]: ICMP: 0ms delay. NTP: +0.0000000s offset from mydom1.mydom.com RefID: 'LOCL' [76.79.67.76] mydom2.mydom.com [172.21.10.101]: ICMP: 0ms delay. NTP: -1699900597.7640625s offset from mydom1.mydom.com RefID: unspecified / unsynchronized [0.0.0.0] And if I do w32tm /monito /computers:ntp1.ien.it ntp1.ien.it [193.204.114.232]: ICMP: error IP_REQ_TIMED_OUT - no response in 1000ms NTP: -102.4783703s offset from local clock RefID: 'UTCI' [85.84.67.73] I set other outsource but I still have 76.79.67.76 Please any good advice will be very appreciated...I'm gonna mad, thanks a lot
Guest Meinolf Weber Posted September 26, 2007 Posted September 26, 2007 Re: 76.79.67.76 Time external source Hello NiBE, Since windows 2000 there is no PDC/BDC anymore. You have only DC's with different roles. So check if you use the PDCEmulator for the connection to external NTP server. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/324801 Configure the Windows Time service on the PDC emulator http://technet2.microsoft.com/WindowsServer/en/library/ce8890cf-ef46-4931-8e4a-2fc5b4ddb0471033.mspx?mfr=true Best regards Meinolf Weber Disclaimer: This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights. > Hi, > I have two domain, one is the backup and the other is the PDC. > All my network runs good and it syncs correctly with PDC. > The problem is that PDC is not able to take the correct time from > outside. > That's what I see with w32tm /monitor: > mydom1.mydom.com *** PDC *** [172.21.10.100]: > ICMP: 0ms delay. > NTP: +0.0000000s offset from mydom1.mydom.com > RefID: 'LOCL' [76.79.67.76] > mydom2.mydom.com [172.21.10.101]: > ICMP: 0ms delay. > NTP: -1699900597.7640625s offset from mydom1.mydom.com > RefID: unspecified / unsynchronized [0.0.0.0] > And if I do w32tm /monito /computers:ntp1.ien.it > > ntp1.ien.it [193.204.114.232]: > ICMP: error IP_REQ_TIMED_OUT - no response in 1000ms > NTP: -102.4783703s offset from local clock > RefID: 'UTCI' [85.84.67.73] > I set other outsource but I still have 76.79.67.76 Please any good > advice will be very appreciated...I'm gonna mad, > > thanks a lot >
Guest Nibe Posted September 26, 2007 Posted September 26, 2007 Re: 76.79.67.76 Time external source Hi Meinolf, thank you for your fast reply, anyway you have right I forget to tell you that I have two DC with 2003. I check the two link and everything is ok. The DC who emulate PDC seems ok, but i still have the same problem, and now I really dunno what else I can do. thanks again "Meinolf Weber" wrote: > Hello NiBE, > > Since windows 2000 there is no PDC/BDC anymore. Guest Meinolf Weber Posted September 27, 2007 Posted September 27, 2007 Re: 76.79.67.76 Time external source Hello NiBE, Is it possible that you test it without the firewall, just to see that it is working with the rest of your configuration and the commands? Best regards Meinolf Weber Disclaimer: This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights. > Hello Weber, > I try to use Ip instead of dns but nothing change :( > I really dunno what else I can try > thanks for your help
