What is Normal traffic?

Good Morning!

I am not sure I worded this post correctly but I would just like to know if I have anything to be concerned about. I should also not that I have done 2 diffeent malware scans before I ask this question.

 

Recently I noticed that there seems to be some activity with my wireless connection (Netopia Router WEP) even when I am off line. It is very minimal less then .01 percent but seems to go on quite a bit. Frankly I do not know if this has always been the case or if it is something new.

 

I am assuming that some communication goes on between the Router and the PC (laptop with built in wireless) but that is really not based on any actual knowledge. I am not looking for problems but would like to know if this is normal or should I be looking for something??

Its fine - you will get some traffic send even when you are not using the device

Its ok - as long as you have some kind of encrytion on your router (then people who could actually hack it would not be worth their time) :D

There you go again. How did you know that I had cookies,:eek: Maybe it is you coming through the window. The big question is whether you are the Burglar or the Monster.

 

OK don't say it. It is time to leave these threads for the serious Extreme Tech Support - Free PC Help issues.
